28 Howbeit the people that dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified, [and] very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

Verse 28. But the merely natural man is also fully impressed with the difficulty of overcoming the evils, and falsities by which evil is defended, fully discerning the strength of the persuasions of pride from selfish love.
