1 If one be found slain in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath smitten him;

Verse 1. If the Divine Spirit or Influx of good and truth from heaven be found profaned, perverted, or extinguished in the soul in the new states which the Divine Love and Wisdom have given you as your own in regeneration, being destroyed in the external man, and it be not known what caused it to perish;
