Yeha ke abatyeshileyo eZiyon, nabakholose ngentaba yakwaSamari; abadumileyo ngamagama kwintlahlela yeentlanga, eza kubo indlu kaSirayeli!

Welelani eKalene, nibone; nisuke khona niye eHamati enkulu, nihle niye eGati yamaFilisti; ukuba ilungile na loo mizi kunezikumkani; ukuba mikhulu na imida yayo kunemida yenu.

Nina, baba imini yokubi ikude, basondeza isihlalo sogonyamelo;

nina, balele ezingqengqelweni zeempondo zeendlovu, banabe emandlalweni yabo, badle amatakane emhlambini, namathole asesitalini;

nina, baphololoza kukubetha umrhubhe, bazicingela ukwenza izinto zokuvuma njengoDavide;

nina, baseli bewayini ngezitya zokutshiza zemibingelelo, bazithambise ngentlahlela yeoli, bangahlabeki kukwaphuka kukaYosefu.

Ngako oko baya kuthinjwa bemke ngoku, kwasentloko kubathinjwa, iphele ingxobotshane yabanabileyo.

INkosi uYehova izifungile, utsho uYehova, uThixo wemikhosi; yathi, Lisikizi kum iqhayiya likaYakobi, ndizithiyile iingxande zakhe ezinde; ngako oko ndowunikela umzi nenzaliseko yawo.

Kuya kuthi, ukuba kuthe kwasala amadoda alishumi ndlwini-nye, afe.

Umntu wophakanyiswa nguyisekazi, umngcwabi wakhe, ukuba awakhuphe amathambo akhe endlwini, athi kosentla endlwini, Kusekho na okuwe? athi lowo, Akusekho nto; wothi yena, Thwize; ngokuba alingekhankanywa igama likaYehova.

Ngokuba, uyabona, uYehova uwisa umthetho, bayibethe indlu enkulu ibe ngamavithi, nendlu encinane ibe ziintanda.

Amahashe ayabaleka na phezu kweengxondorha? bayalima na khona ngeenkomo? ukuba nikujike nje okusesikweni kube bubuhlungu, nesiqhamo sobulungisa sibe ngumhlonyane;

nina bavuyela okungelutho; bathi, Sizenzela iimpondo ngawethu amandla.

Ke yabonani, ndinivusela uhlanga, ndlu kaSirayeli; utsho uYehova, uThixo wemikhosi; luya kunixina, luthabathele ekuyiweni eHamati, luse esihlanjeni seArabha.

Exploring the Meaning of Amos 6

By Helen Kennedy

Woe is called upon people who seem to live a life of ease and fill it with pleasures. For example, those who “Eat lambs from the flock.” (Amos 6:4) Following Swedenborg’s correspondences it could mean “Those who attribute innocence (the lamb) to themselves,” or think they are blameless when they have actually sinned. Also, “Do horses run on rocks?”(Amos 6:12) is a great image for when our understanding is filled with only literal or external truths but doesn’t delve into deeper ones that show the Lord’s leading more clearly.
