22 Han svarade: »Du skall icke hugga ned dem. Du plägar ju icke ens hugga ned dem som du har tagit till fånga med svärd och båge. Sätt fram för dem mat och dryck och låt dem äta och dricka, och låt dem sedan gå till sin herre igen»

Verse 22. Whereas this is contrary to Divine Truth; for even the corrupted man represses his lower passions by means of natural truths and the force of reason, when it suits him; nor does he destroy them. And hence Divine Truth further teaches, that the natural powers are to be nourished with good and truth in order that they may be serviceable to the higher life.
