Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the weekweek, when the doorsdoors were shut where the disciplesdisciples were assembled for fear of the JewsJews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saithsaith unto them, PeacePeace be unto you.
Then saidsaid Jesus to them again, PeacePeace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
And when he had saidsaid this, he breathed on them, and saithsaith unto them, Receive ye the Holy GhostGhost:
Whose soever sins ye remitremit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retainretain, they are retained.
But Thomas, one of the twelvetwelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
The other disciplesdisciples therefore saidsaid unto him, We have seenseen the Lord. But he saidsaid unto them, Except I shall seesee in his handshands the print of the nails, and putput my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his sideside, I will not believebelieve.
And after eight days again his disciplesdisciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doorsdoors being shut, and stood in the midst, and saidsaid, PeacePeace be unto you.
Then saithsaith he to Thomas, reachreach hither thy finger, and behold my handshands; and reachreach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my sideside: and be not faithless, but believing.
And Thomas answeredanswered and saidsaid unto him, My Lord and my God.
Jesus saithsaith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seenseen me, thou hast believedbelieved: blessed are they that have not seenseen, and yet have believedbelieved.
