Commentary on this verse

By Henry MacLagan

Verse 19. But the corrupted man of the church, who desires natural delights from selfish love, confirms such delights in himself successively, first by voluntary indulgence; secondly, by conjunction with falsity; thirdly, by the destruction of remains in himself as to truth and as to good; fourthly, by fully resisting the conjunction of truth with good and of good with truth.
