22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:

Verse 22. When there shall be found in the soul an evil which ought to be destroyed; and it is seen to induce a state utterly devoid of spiritual life, so that it must be rejected as utterly averse to the good of heaven and the Church:
