Zechariah 5

Study

And I turned··back, and lifted··up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a flying scroll.

And he said to me, What seest thou? And I said, I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits, and its breadth ten cubits.

Then said he to me, This is the curse that goes··out over the face of all the land; for everyone who steals shall be held··innocent* as on this side of the scroll according to it; and everyone who promises falsely shall be held··innocent as on that side according to it.

I will bring· it ·out, says Jehovah of Armies, and it shall come into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who promises falsely in My name; and it shall lodge in the midst of his house, and shall consume· it ·all, and its wood and its stones.

And the angel who spoke with me went··out, and said to me, Lift now thine eyes, and see what is this that goes··out.

And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goes··out. And he said, This is their aspect through all the earth:

And, behold, there was lifted··up a talent of lead; and this is one woman who sits in the midst of the ephah.

And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the stone of lead onto its mouth.

And lifted· I ·up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came··out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted··up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

And I said to the angel who spoke with me, Whither are these going with the ephah?

And he said to me, To build for it a house in the land of Shinar; and it shall be established, and placed there on its base.
